Boudchart in Casablanca: a new stage in a carefully crafted artistic journey
Casablanca welcomes Amine Boudchar on April 16, 17, 18 and 19 for a series of concerts marking a turning point in his artistic development.
Trained as a composer, arranger and conductor, the artist is pushing his creative vision even further this year by fully taking on the artistic direction of his productions.
This is not so much a change of role as the culmination of a gradual maturation. Already at the helm of his own projects, Amine Boudchar is reaching a new stage: by tightening the interplay between the musical and visual dimensions of the performance, he is shaping a more cohesive and assertive artistic statement, in which nothing is left to chance.
A music-hall vocabulary
The standout innovation of this edition lies in the integration of LED screens in a configuration previously unseen on Moroccan stages. Far from serving as mere visual decoration, this setup is conceived as an extension of the musical language itself: it interacts with the pieces performed and helps build a genuine dramatic structure on stage. This is where the concept undergoes a meaningful shift: by bringing together orchestra, choir and immersive scenography, the performance begins to draw on the language of music hall, embracing a more all-encompassing form of spectacle without relinquishing its symphonic ambitions.
This approach is part of a broader global movement to reinvent the symphonic concert, where image and sound merge to create more immersive experiences and reach new audiences. The move toward music hall is not a rupture, but a natural evolution: that of a classical format embracing a more explicit theatrical dimension in order to resonate with contemporary expectations.

From an artistic standpoint, Amine Boudchar’s triple role — as conductor, composer and artistic director (also known as Boudchart) — gives him rare control over the entire creative process, from composition to final performance. This versatility finds its full expression in a hybrid format where symphonic music engages with the language of live spectacle: here, the conductor orchestrates not only sound, but also emotion, imagery and the overall rhythm of the evening.
Four dates in Casablanca, each among the season’s most eagerly awaited cultural events. These concerts also reflect a shift in audience tastes, with growing openness to formats that borrow music hall’s generosity and sense of spectacle while preserving the rigor and depth of the orchestral repertoire.
By firmly embracing this direction, Amine Boudchar is asserting an ambition that goes beyond national borders: to turn the orchestral concert into a living, evolving space — and perhaps, over time, into a form approaching the grand French tradition of spectacle.
